Yak Buffalo brings new music
Meet the duo that wants you to fully experience their sexy grooves.
With the release of their third single Our Land, Yak Buffalo is already focusing on putting more songs out on all available platforms. But they have a plan. They will be releasing one track at a time. "Every song deserves an opportunity, so people can experience them separately and avoid the instant mix of hues that sometimes listening to a complete album in one shot can produce", drummer Victor Cervantes explains. This methodology is something we are seeing taking place by big and renowned artists all over the world.
The creativity of the band goes beyond their sound. "We want people to say that there is more here than just listening to music", says vocalist Carlo Bastida.
When it comes to live shows, the band transforms into a collaboration of sometimes 9 musicians on stage, which varies between trumpets, saxophones, guitars, lead vocalist, backup singers, drums, bass, and keyboards. Even Bastida and Cervantes have become curators of every aspect of the production process. From choosing the wardrobe for everyone with the help of fashion designer Lluvia Colette to adding visual and tactile elements to the whole experience.
And you are wrong to think that Yak Buffalo is the band that you would probably see just in dedicated rock venues. "We once played inside a barbershop. During the show, there was an aerial dancer performing to the rhythm of every song", both mentioned.
"For us, Yak Buffalo means to follow your dreams, to materialize your passions". On their lyrics, they talk about letting go of your fears in life, embracing goals and dreams and trust on ourselves to achieve happiness. Also, they take a dive into sensuality and the memories of sharing moments with loved ones.
Keep track of Yak Buffalo by following them on social media and streaming platforms. They will soon announce tour dates and a special event/presentation of their new material, so stay tuned!.
